Read more →The IAFSW is proud to announce the expansion of the STEM Focus Institutions for the Future program into five new countries across Southeast Asia, bringing the whole-institution capacity-building approach to dozens of new general education schools, TVET institutions, and higher education partners.
This expansion builds on three years of program development and reflects growing demand from ministries of education and school leaders seeking a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to STEM integration.
New partner institutions will receive full access to the IAFSW curriculum framework, teacher training modules, and ongoing coaching support as they work toward whole-school STEM adoption.
We look forward to sharing outcomes from these new partnerships as the program rolls out over the coming academic year.
The IAFSW has signed a new partnership agreement with a regional network of technical and vocational education institutions, aimed at embedding green STEM curricula into applied training programs.
The collaboration will focus on renewable technologies, sustainable manufacturing practices, and industry-aligned certifications, preparing TVET graduates for careers in the emerging green economy.
Under the agreement, participating institutions will pilot new coursework modules developed jointly by IAFSW curriculum specialists and industry partners.
Students from IAFSW partner institutions gathered for the annual STEM Green Workforce Showcase, presenting projects that tackled real-world sustainability challenges using STEM skills.
Projects ranged from renewable energy prototypes to community water-quality monitoring systems, reflecting the depth of applied learning happening across the network.
Judges praised the students’ ability to combine technical rigor with environmental and social awareness, exactly the qualities the STEM Green Workforce program aims to cultivate.
The IAFSW and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (KOFAC) have launched a joint research study examining the classroom impact of IAFSW’s STEM teacher training methodologies.
The study will track outcomes across a sample of partner schools over the next 18 months, with findings expected to inform future revisions to the professional development curriculum.
Thanks to the generosity of corporate sponsors, the IAFSW has established a new scholarship fund supporting underserved students pursuing STEM pathways in general education, TVET, and higher education.
The fund will prioritize students from communities with limited access to STEM resources, covering tuition support, learning materials, and mentorship opportunities.
Applications for the first round of scholarships will open later this year.
Registration is now open for the STEM Green Workforce Summit 2026, bringing together educators, policymakers, and industry leaders to shape the future of STEM education.
This year’s summit will feature sessions on whole-institution STEM adoption, green curriculum design, and international best practices in TVET partnership building.
